Pastor Fritz and his wife met at Berean Baptist Church in Rockford, IL. As young people, they both were saved, baptized, grew, and served the Lord in various ministries of their Church. They were married in 1980 and started a family during their Bible College years. After graduating from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO in 1984, they went back to their home Church and were actively serving while he worked as an electrician. In 1990, pastor Fritz accepted the call to pastor First Baptist Church which had recently gone through a series of hardships. Pastor Fritz became the 53rd pastor of the Church and has been the first to stay in the church for more than a few short years. They have enjoyed raising their family of four children in Amboy which are now serving the Lord with their families in various parts of the world. They are grateful grandparents of 16 grandchildren.
