First Baptists Church first met in an old schoolhouse in downtown Amboy from 1855-1857. In 1857 the wooden structure was built on Mason Ave and was used until it was destroyed by a fire in 1923. The larger brick building was completed on the same location in 1924. In the mid 1980's the Church erected a large pole structure which contains a gymnasium / fellowship hall, kitchen, offices, and classrooms. The two buildings were joined together with an entry foyer with a staircase and handicap lift in the mid 1990's.
